The Last Push of Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims from Mecca Ends, Services Shift to Medina
Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that the process of pushing Indonesian pilgrims from Mecca to Medina wrapped up on Monday (22/6/2026). All operational services are now centered in Medina until the pilgrims head back home. A total of 257 groups with 97,477 pilgrims and 1,028 officials have been dispatched from Mecca. “Alhamdulillah, the last push finished today. The next services are focused in Medina,” said Ichsan Marsha, spokesperson for the Ministry.
The repatriation of pilgrims keeps moving. As of Monday, 367 groups with 142,053 pilgrims and 1,468 officials have arrived at various debarkations, totaling 143,521 people. The number of special hajj pilgrims who returned is recorded at 15,802. The Ministry urges pilgrims in Medina to take care of their physical condition, not to overexert themselves, get enough rest, and immediately contact officials if they need help. Pilgrims are reminded to carry identification, know their hotel location, and not travel alone, especially the elderly and people with disabilities.
In worship services, officials have issued 165,486 Raudhah permits. Nearing departure, pilgrims are asked to ensure passports, boarding passes, and documents are secure. Zamzam water is not allowed in luggage because it will be officially provided at the debarkation. “We hope the values of patience, discipline, and sincerity learned during the hajj continue to be realized in daily life,” concluded Ichsan.
