Scammed but Trusting in Allah's Plan
As-Salaamu Alaikum, I recently got scammed when trying to sell some items I had been holding onto. I waited to sell them because I didn’t want to part with them until I truly needed the money. There’s a woman I knew from long ago who I learned is still single after an engagement fell through. We reconnected and talked. Things didn’t end badly between us, but she said she’s not ready for marriage right now and asked for space because of how I reacted to parts of her situation - she felt I was immature. I thought having some money would help show her and myself that I’m responsible and ready, so I decided to sell the items. This was my first time selling online and I got scammed right away. I know there are lessons here, and maybe Allah is testing me or using this to cleanse me of sins. May Allah ease the hardship for those of us who’ve lost things, and if it’s better for us, return them when we’re in a better place, ameen. I’m not asking for anything except your duas - that Allah makes this easy for me, and if she is good for me and I am good for her, that we can be reunited in a halaal marriage. I’m putting everything in Allah’s hands, though it’s tough and feels suffocating at times. Please keep me in your duas, and if anyone has comforting words or has been through something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing from you. May Allah have mercy on us and forgive us, ameen. JazakAllah Khair.
