Said Didu Reveals Alleged Manipulation in Free Nutritious Meals Program, Rp150 Trillion State Budget Allegedly Corrupted
Former Secretary of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Muhammad Said Didu, disclosed an alleged systematic scheme within the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program under the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). He argues that the program, which should target the poor and 3T (frontier, outermost, least developed) regions, was manipulated by expanding the target to 82 million children to inflate the budget. Additionally, the number of SPPG kitchens was raised to 30,000 locations, including hundreds of fictitious kitchens, with potential leakage of Rp300 billion per day.
Said Didu also highlighted the change in kitchen management requirements to be open, allowing foundations set up by cronies of BGN officials to control the program. The incentive per portion was changed to Rp6 million per kitchen per day, guaranteeing a return on the Rp750 million investment within a year. He called for a moratorium on the program and the arrest of all involved parties, estimating state budget savings of up to Rp150 trillion.
The Attorney General's Office has named a new suspect, Glory Harimas Sihombing, Chair of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation, who is suspected of acting as an intermediary in finding SPPG foundation partners at the behest of former BGN Head, Dadan Hindayana. The total number of suspects in this case now stands at six.
