Responding to the 2027 BPIH Adjustment, Hajj Minister Emphasizes Efficiency Without Lowering Service Quality

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) RI stressed that the adjustment of the 2027 Hajj Implementation Cost (BPIH) won't shift the entire increase onto the pilgrims. Prospective hajj pilgrims are urged to remain calm. Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, said the 2027 BPIH was carefully drawn up with an efficiency-first approach, while not letting service quality slip. The adjustment is needed because of the rising dollar exchange rate, jet fuel prices, and service charges in Saudi Arabia. “The government will keep working on the best formula so the cost paid by pilgrims stays reasonable.
