Reflections on Discovering the Quran

As-salamu alaykum! I wanted to share something meaningful that happened recently. I was having a conversation with a fellow Muslim at work, and we discussed how some people on the internet unfairly criticize Islam while overlooking flaws in other faiths. My friend wisely advised, 'To truly understand Islam, look not at imperfect followers but at the source-the Quran itself.' Inspired, I picked up an English translation called 'The Clear Quran' and began reading. Alhamdulillah, I'm so glad I did. My 10-year-old cousin showed interest, so I got her a copy too. She made a beautiful observation: 'Whoever wrote this must really love Allah!' I felt the same way-every passage seems to highlight Allah's goodness, purity, justice, and mercy. It doesn't just speak about loving Allah; it inspires you to love and follow Him too. Insha'Allah, once I finish, I plan to explore another translation.
