Reconstruction of the Little Aresha Daycare Case: The Foundation Chair's Order to Tie Up Toddlers
A reconstruction of the alleged child abuse case at Little Aresha Daycare in Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with 13 suspects present. The process, which lasted about three and a half hours, featured 23 scenes related to the alleged tying up of toddlers.
Yogyakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Kompol Risky Adrian, stated that the tying up was carried out on the orders of the foundation chair, with the initials DK. "Earlier one of the suspects explained that it was indeed conveyed by the foundation chair, 'If they run around or are hard to bathe, just tie them up'," Risky said.
This practice is said to have been going on for a long time and had become a habit at the daycare. DK didn't do the tying directly, but he gave instructions to the caregivers. The reconstruction also revealed that children were left tied up while being put to sleep, matching what was found during the raid.
