Reasons for Perry Warjiyo's Resignation from Bank Indonesia

The government has officially accepted Perry Warjiyo's resignation as Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). The resignation letter was submitted to President Prabowo Subianto, who expressed appreciation for Perry's nearly seven years of service leading the central bank. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said the President accepted the resignation with thanks. The government will process the issuance of a Presidential Decree regarding his honorable dismissal. Meanwhile, the position of BI Governor will temporarily be held by Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti until a definitive governor is appointed. Destry Damayanti revealed that Perry's resignation was voluntary, for personal reasons, based on a letter dated July 25, 2026.
