As-salamu alaykum, I'm considering raising lamb and mutton for halal meat to serve the growing Muslim community in Michigan. I have a few questions to ensure I meet their dietary needs. Are Muslims permitted to consume meat produced on a farm that also raises hogs, as long as they are kept separate? What about farms that have chickens and goats - are they considered halal? I'd also love to know what the most common protein source is in Muslim households. I want to better understand my potential customer base and provide them with the best options.
