PLN Brings 24-Hour Electricity to 1,396 Households in the Arfak Mountains, West Papua
Arfak Mountains – PT PLN (Persero) has managed to provide full 24-hour electricity to 1,396 households across four districts in the Arfak Mountains Regency, West Papua. This program is a real show of PLN's commitment to expand energy access even to areas with tough geographical conditions. The four districts that now enjoy round-the-clock electricity are Minyambouw, Taige, Hingk, and Anggi Gida. This service upgrade is the result of the Village Electricity Program (Lisdes) combined with the government's New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL), so that underprivileged communities get free electricity access.
Before, residents of Minyambouw District only got electricity for 6 hours a day, while the other districts got 12 hours. Now, the power's on 24 hours straight. A local resident, Paulus, expressed his gratitude for PLN's efforts. Member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Cheroline Chrisye Makalew, also gave appreciation for this achievement.
