PT Petrokimia Gresik is once again sending off 50 participants of the Taruna Makmur Work Program Batch IX for a six-month field internship in various regions. The program aims to prepare young agronomists who will assist farmers and support national food self-sufficiency.
Petrokimia Gresik's Director of Finance and General Affairs, Adityo Wibowo, stated that strengthening human resources is a key factor in realizing sustainable food self-sufficiency. Since 2022, the program has produced 423 participants who are being prepared to become farmer assistants across Indonesia.
The participants come from Agricultural Development Polytechnics in Malang, Bogor, Medan, Gowa, Yoma, and the LPP Polytechnic Yogyakarta. They will be placed in East Java, Central Java, West Java, and Bali to support Petrokimia Gresik's Agrosolution Program, including outreach, balanced fertilization assistance, and crop cultivation guidance.
The program is also aimed at strengthening farmer regeneration. Adityo emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, universities, farmers, and business actors. One participant, Olivian Rizky, hopes the program will be beneficial for developing knowledge and concrete actions for agricultural productivity.
