Peace be upon you. To serve and create: Imams visited the detention center in Yekaterinburg.
Walaikum assalam. Representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Sverdlovsk Region made a working trip to prisons No. 1 and No. 5 in Yekaterinburg, where they met with the brothers and sisters in faith who are there and talked about spiritual and moral issues.
The visit took place as part of the interregional project "Serve and Create," aimed at developing cooperation between Muslim communities and law enforcement agencies. The meetings were held by the deputies of the mufti of DUMSO, Ibrahim Yakubov, Suhrob Juraev, and Imam Umar Aslanov.
The imams answered the prisoners' questions on religious topics, handed out spiritual literature and fresh newspapers, and supported the people with kind words and attention. At the request of the management of prison No. 5, a separate conversation was organized for those who had broken the rules: they were reminded of the importance of discipline and strict adherence to the residence rules.
The imams also participated in a roundtable on interfaith dialogue and, via video link, held a quiz on the basics of faith together with Orthodox priests. Among the Muslims, the women's team from prison No. 5 performed the best – they were awarded a prize.
DUMSO thanked the prison's management for their cooperation and support of the project.
Just to remind you, Islam originated in the 7th century and means submission to the will of Allah; today, this religion has over a billion followers. Thanks for your attention, may Allah reward for the good deed.
