North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda Reported to KPK, Alleged Corruption in Rp8.8 Billion Project
The Anti-Corruption Militia Movement (GALAK) reported North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday (8/5/2026). The report involves alleged corruption, collusion, and nepotism in managing development projects worth over Rp8.8 billion, including the Governor's Official Residence, the People's Palace, and guard posts.
GALAK director Muslim Arbi presented initial evidence like the 2025 BPK Audit Report and Governor Regulation No. 31 of 2025. The BPK report noted that the regulation refers to Presidential Decree No. 16 of 2020, which has been revoked, creating legality issues.
GALAK urged the KPK to review the report and escalate it to an investigation if sufficient preliminary evidence is found. There’s been no official statement yet from Governor Sherly Tjoanda or the North Maluku provincial government, and the right of reply remains open.
