News and events of the Muslim community in October 2025
Assalamu alaikum! From October 8 to 11, the 27th Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition "Golden Autumn - 2025" took place in Moscow at the Timiryazev Center, where a roundtable was organized on the topic "Halal Production Standards: Safety, Quality, Traditions." The event was attended by the Mufti of Moscow and head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Albir Hazrat Krganov, who spoke about the spiritual significance of halal as a way of life, emphasizing that halal is not just quality standards but also a reflection of the moral principles of a Muslim, based on honesty and responsibility. He called for joint work between the state, religious institutions, and businesses to strengthen trust and promote Russian halal standards on the international stage.
In Saratov, representatives of the Muslim community visited servicemen undergoing treatment at the Russian Ministry of Defense hospital. Imam of the Saratov Cathedral Mosque Rustam-hazrat Mukhitov, together with activists, delivered spiritual literature and supported the fighters with prayers for their speedy recovery. This visit was initiated by both religious figures and the soldiers themselves.
Also in October, the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Karelia, Said Abdul-Aziz Dyatko, visited the Saratov region. During a meeting at the Saratov Cathedral Mosque, he shared important thoughts about knowledge and information, their role in life and the spiritual development of Muslims, and stressed the need for constant self-improvement and patience.
Muslims of Krasnogorsk provided charitable aid to the local hospital’s pediatric infectious disease department, donating over three hundred packs of diapers. Imam-khatib Ilgam Sadygov noted that caring for others is an important part of every Muslim’s spiritual responsibility.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of Saudi Arabia announced a new regulation allowing all holders of valid visas to the kingdom-including tourist, business, and work visas-to perform Umrah. This innovation makes pilgrimage easier and promotes the expansion of religious tourism under the Vision 2030 program.
The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea and Sevastopol continues to support defenders on the front lines by delivering humanitarian aid and providing spiritual support. Recently, soldiers received a vehicle filled with necessary supplies and halal canned stew, and there was a meeting with the Mufti of Crimea, Hadji Emirali Ablaev.
In Makhachkala, the Republican Anti-Terrorism Forum was held, attended by over 800 representatives from various regions of Russia, including the Deputy Mufti of Dagestan, Murad Ismailov. The forum discussed methods of combating terrorism and extremism, preventive measures, and ways to implement them.
At the Nur-Mubarak University in Almaty, an international conference was held dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan. The Supreme Mufti, Nauryzbay Kazy Taganuly, gave a report on the importance of knowledge and reason in the modern digital age, emphasizing the importance of understanding and using technology in the lives of Muslims.
In Uzbekistan, the implementation of a joint project with Russia will begin to build the first small modular reactor nuclear power plant and a Nuclear Medicine Center, which will be a significant event for the development of science and medicine in the region.
