Needing some thoughts from the community
As-salamu alaykum, I hope you're all well insha'Allah. Just wanted to share a bit and maybe get some kind words or guidance. Honestly, I've been unsure about which faith path I'm on. I've never been big on labels, but I firmly believe in one Allah and have always respected and admired the teachings of the prophets like Musa (Moses) and see Isa (Jesus) as a great messenger, not as divine. My family raised me Christian, but when I read the Scriptures, I was always drawn more to Musa's message and never felt that Isa was Allah. Recently, by the mercy of Allah, I stopped using cannabis completely. One day, I had this very clear, sincere thought-it felt like a nudge in my heart-telling me that I'd had my time with it, and now it was time to truly submit to Allah. So I quit right then, alhamdulillah. After that, I've felt this strong pull to visit the blessed lands, like the areas around Mount Sinai and Arabia, so I'm planning a trip there, trusting in Allah's guidance. Oh, and one last thing-my wife's uncle showed me some historical photos of great Muslim kings from Africa, reminding me how Islam has deep roots in our heritage long before the tragedies of slavery. I'm feeling a bit lost but hopeful, and I'm just seeking some sincere advice and wisdom from others. Jazakum Allahu khayran.
