Muftiate, the Bank of Russia, and the Ministry of Finance are joining forces to improve financial literacy in Chechnya.
Assalamu alaikum! An important tripartite agreement was signed in Grozny aimed at improving the financial literacy of the residents of the Chechen Republic. This document was signed by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Chechnya, the regional branch of the Bank of Russia, and the Ministry of Finance of the Chechen Republic.
The ceremony was attended by the Advisor to the Head of the Chechen Republic, the Mufti of the Chechen Republic Sheikh Salah-Haji Mezhiyev, the head of the Bank of Russia’s Chechen branch Tamerlan Vatsuev, and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic, Minister of Finance Sultan Tagaev.
The main goal of the agreement is joint work to raise financial culture among the population, fight financial fraudsters, and develop principles of partnership financing, which aligns with the ethical norms of our religion.
As part of the cooperation, educational events with specialists are planned - seminars, trainings, and round tables. Also, brochures, video materials, and publications in Russian and Chechen will be prepared to inform people.
Earlier, Mufti Salah-Haji Mezhiyev discussed the development of Islamic banking with bank representatives, which is very important for believers who want to conduct business according to Sharia.
Let’s remember that Islam, having appeared in the 7th century, had a huge impact on the history and culture of many peoples. The word “Islam” in Arabic means “submission to the will of Allah,” and today more than a billion people follow this religion.
