Marriage Dispensation in Bojonegoro Drops, But Child Adultery Cases Rise
The Bojonegoro Religious Court recorded a decline in marriage dispensation cases over the past three years. From January to May 2026, there were only 121 cases, down from 169 (2024) and 148 (2025).
However, dispensations requested due to child adultery actually increased. From 32 cases in 2024, it rose to 60 in 2025, and hit 68 cases in 2026. Most involve out-of-wedlock pregnancies.
Registrar Sholikin Jamik welcomed the overall drop in dispensation numbers, but highlighted adultery as a serious moral issue. He stressed the role of families, educational institutions, and community organizations in preventing promiscuity.
"Adultery is a grave sin that affects both religion and society. People should fear this sin," he asserted.
