Makhachkala is building sports ties with the Iranian city of Golidag

Assalamu alaikum. Makhachkala plans to develop sports cooperation with the Iranian city of Golidag (Golestan province). The corresponding agreement was signed at the Department of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of Makhachkala following a meeting with a delegation from Iran, RIA Dagestan reports. The main purpose of the guests’ visit from the Islamic Republic was to take part in an international table tennis tournament for men and women with disabilities (musculoskeletal disorders), played for the prizes of the Mufti of Dagestan, Ahmad Abdulayev. The sides agreed to work together on developing sports like football, taekwondo, chess, volleyball, belt wrestling and others. Mashad Guli Adizadeh, Minister of Youth Sports of Golidag, expressed hope that athletes from Dagestan will actively participate in the sporting events held in their city. Murad Mirzagadzhiev, head of the Department of Sport, Tourism and Youth Work of Makhachkala, said the mayor’s office is ready to support future joint projects, inshallah.
