Maintaining Salah Amidst a Busy Life: Seeking Guidance
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, I am a 23-year-old revert striving to live by the deen. Balancing full-time work and studies without the convenience of a car makes it quite challenging to perform my prayers on time. Due to the demands of my job, taking all prayer breaks daily is often not feasible; usually, I only manage to pray during lunch. For instance, today I only had lunch break, which caused me to miss praying Maghrib within its time. I performed Qadha once I returned home, but I feel remorseful as it was already past the beginning of Isha when I prayed Maghrib. Additionally, my study schedule is intense, and sometimes I miss Fajr because after returning home from work about 5.5 hours before Fajr, I have dinner, pray Isha, and sometimes Maghrib. By the time I rest, there are only around 4.5 hours before Fajr. I wake up for Fajr but cannot sleep afterward since I need to study until 11:30 AM. Following that, I have household chores and errands, especially since I share my home with a roommate who is not very tidy, so cleaning tasks accumulate. This leads to sleep deprivation, causing me to oversleep Fajr at times. I seek advice on how best to maintain my prayers in such demanding circumstances. I am preparing myself to have a righteous spouse soon, and thus I am working hard to afford this responsibility. Working is essential for my survival, and studying aims to increase my income to support my future family. Jazakum Allahu khairan for any guidance or du'as.
