Maintaining Morals in the Digital Age, Jember Regency Teams Up with Islamic Boarding Schools and Quran Teachers through a Communication Forum
The Jember Regency government inaugurated the management of the Communication Forum for Islamic Boarding Schools and Quran Teachers at Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha, Wednesday (17/6). This forum becomes a space for strategic dialogue and a bridge for regional development ideas, attended by pesantren caretakers, Quran teachers, community organizations, Forkopimda, and representatives of religious organizations such as PCNU, Muhammadiyah, LDII, PHDI, and the Inter-Church Council.
Jember Regent Muhammad Fawait stressed the vital role of pesantren and Quran teachers as the nation's moral fortress. He highlighted the challenges of the digital era, where social media influences people's perspectives and demands digital literacy so they aren't easily provoked.
Gus Fawait also urged the public to be objective in viewing the national economic situation based on data, not rumors. He asserted that the current economic stability is far better compared to the 1998 crisis, with indicators such as the rupiah exchange rate and inflation under control.
