Judge Asked to Be Fair in Family Murder Case in Indramayu
The president of the Indonesian Legal Practitioners and Experts Association (Petisi Ahli), Pitra Romadoni Nasution, has asked the panel of judges at the Indramayu District Court to be fair and professional in trying the defendant Ririn Rifanto, the perpetrator in the murder of a family that killed five people in Paoman, Indramayu. He urged the judges not to be swayed by the defendant's attempts to shape public opinion as if the police had committed procedural errors.
Pitra stated that, based on collected information, the defendant Ririn held a grudge against the victim Budi Awaludin over a loan of Rp900,000. He considered the courtroom drama put on by the defendant to be just a trick to deceive the panel of judges and gain public sympathy.
In a previous hearing, Ririn retracted her statement from the police report and insisted that the murders were carried out by four other people, namely Aman Yani and three of his friends. This case occurred on August 28, 2025, at Jalan Siliwangi Number 52, Paoman, Indramayu. Five victims, including two children, were found dead on September 1, 2025, after neighbors smelled a foul odor coming from the house.
