It's our duty to stand with those facing injustice
Salam, everyone. I've noticed that some Muslims, when the topic of Palestine comes up, say things like, 'It's not our responsibility.' How can that be? It’s an obligation (fardh) on all of us to support our Muslim brothers and sisters enduring suffering. Many of you might have heard about Hind Rajab, a 5-year-old girl hit by hundreds of bullets. If that doesn’t shake us to action, what will? We have to come together, speak out, and resist as one ummah-this is a struggle against injustice that touches our faith deeply. To those who still hesitate, remember that Allah will question us on the Day of Judgment about our efforts to help the oppressed. And if you think the Quran doesn’t address this, it absolutely does. For those already raising their voices, may Allah reward you. You can share the verses and hadith below to gently remind others of our shared duty: "And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, 'Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from yourself a protector and helper?'" - Surah An-Nisa 4:75 "O believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate from justice. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then know that Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do." - Quran 4:135 The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best jihad is a word of truth spoken to a tyrant ruler."
