IFC and Bank Alfalah sign $100 million financing deal in Pakistan
The International Finance Corporation and Bank Alfalah have signed a $100 million financing agreement under a Diversified Payment Rights programme. The deal, signed in Islamabad and presided over by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, is the first of its kind for a Pakistani bank. The programme aims to create a new channel for long-term foreign currency financing and diversify Pakistan's sources of external funding.
