My photos were shared in a WhatsApp matrimonial group without my consent
My rishta search has been going on for a while, handled by my aunt and mom. A couple of days ago, my best friend called to say her aunt saw my pictures without hijab in a matrimonial community chat. We never registered with them or gave permission to share my pictures with anyone. After talking to the female admin, and with some pressure, she revealed she got them from another WhatsApp group-a mediator group with men and women involved in matchmaking. She was hesitant to share details, but eventually gave me the number of the man who shared them and a screenshot showing his number. My mom called him, and at first he denied everything until we showed the screenshot. Then he admitted he works with a lady (A) who gave him the pictures to post. When we spoke to that lady, she blamed another woman and then mentioned she was in touch with my aunt. So my aunt had been sharing my pictures without telling us. It's been days, and they can't delete the pictures. I asked them to at least create a new community so the old one might become inactive. I would have let it go, but there are men in the group-I found out when the admin added me. Last evening they claimed to have deleted everything, but my friend sent a video showing the pictures were still there. I cried when I found out, and I keep thinking about all the men and women who saw my pictures. I feel disgusted and overwhelmed, and my family thinks I'm overreacting. They tell me to make dua, and I am, but shouldn't I feel this way? I trust Allah and I'm doing my adhkar and ruqya, but knowing my pictures went to 1,250 strangers, including men, makes me deeply sad and disgusted. (Using a throwaway account for privacy reasons.)
