Exciting News: Battlefield 6 Launches on Consoles with Big Hopes to Rival Call of Duty, InshaAllah
Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters! The much-awaited Battlefield 6 has finally arrived on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Windows PC. This new chapter in the popular first-person shooter series brings us back to single-player mode, where you play as Dagger 13, an elite Marine unit battling the private military corporation Pax Armata across three continents as NATO faces challenges.
The game also offers fresh multiplayer modes on various map sizes, featuring both on-foot and vehicle combat in places like Cairo, Brooklyn, and Gibraltar. Electronic Arts, recently acquired by investors including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, hopes the game will reach 100 million players, which would be three times the success of previous titles.
During its open beta in August, over 500,000 players joined simultaneously, placing it among the top played games on Steam, and players’ feedback was mostly positive. EA shared that nearly 92 million hours were spent in the beta, making it their most tested Battlefield game yet.
However, Battlefield has long been competing with Activision’s hugely popular Call of Duty series, which holds the Guinness World Record for best-selling first-person shooter and is beloved worldwide. Activision even offered a free trial of their latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 before releasing Black Ops 7 in November, showing how fierce the competition is.
Battlefield 6 aims to sell around 5 million copies in its first week, based on strong pre-orders, hoping to improve on Battlefield 2042’s initial 4.28 million copies despite earlier issues with that game’s launch.
May Allah grant success to the developers and bless us with engaging and respectful entertainment. Let’s remember to balance our leisure with our duties and always keep in mind what pleases Allah. Enjoy gaming, and may it be a means of relaxation and good companionship, inshaAllah!
