Donald Trump Diverts Gaza Aid Worth IDR 263 Trillion to Israel
WASHINGTON – The administration of US President Donald Trump is reported to have diverted $17 billion (around IDR 263.5 trillion) in humanitarian and reconstruction aid for the Gaza Strip. Funds originally allocated for the recovery of the Palestinian territory are reported to have been channeled to Israel. This report first emerged through the Lebanese daily, Al Akhbar, and has been cited by international news channels such as Press TV and CGTN.
The US-appointed High Representative of the Peace Council, Nickolay Mladenov, officially informed the Gaza Administrative Committee that the pledged aid funds have been completely exhausted. In a closed-door meeting with the Committee's Chairman, Ali Shaath, Mladenov confirmed the reallocation of all these financial resources. These funds were originally projected to support 350,000 families in Gaza, provide temporary housing, and repair vital infrastructure.
As of this report, no physical aid programs have been realized on the ground. Washington's move is assessed to worsen the suffering of Gaza's residents, while the humanitarian situation is feared to hit rock bottom without a clear flow of funds. International transparency regarding the fate of the Palestinian people has once again become a global spotlight.
