Does 'anything else' in this verse cover disbelief and major sins?
Salaam everyone, I'm trying to wrap my head around this aya: 'Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him, but He forgives anything else for whom He wills.' My question is, does 'anything else' include kufr and major sins? From what I understand, for shirk, Allah won't accept excuses like not knowing it was shirk, but for kufr and major sins, maybe excuses are accepted? Like, I've read that someone who never heard about the Quran might be in a state of kufr out of ignorance, and they could be forgiven. But if someone does shirk and says 'I didn’t know,' that's not forgiven because tawhid is known through fitra and intellect, while knowing about prophets or the Quran needs the message to reach you. Just to clarify, I know that if a person sincerely repents, everything is forgiven, even shirk. I didn't bring all the proofs here because it would make this too long. Just checking if my understanding makes sense. Jazakum Allahu khairan.
