Delta Airlines boosts ties with Saudi ahead of Riyadh route launch - Assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum - Delta Airlines has announced a new partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism to encourage travel and raise awareness of the Kingdom among people in the US.
Delta is preparing to start its first-ever nonstop flights between Atlanta and Riyadh next October, a big step in growing its connections to the Middle East. CEO Ed Bastian said the initial effort will aim at attracting business travelers by highlighting Saudi Arabia’s expanding investment opportunities.
He also mentioned that Delta hopes to draw a younger generation of American visitors interested in Saudi’s new tourist sites, like the Red Sea Project and the historic Diriyah area. “The Kingdom has become an attractive destination for a new generation of travelers,” Bastian noted, pointing to changing Western views of Saudi as a place to visit.
To strengthen the regional link, Delta has signed a memorandum of understanding with Riyadh Air to cooperate on things like codeshare flights and coordinating destinations. Over time, the agreement could grow to include joint work on operations, maintenance, and technology, showing a closer relationship between US and Saudi aviation.
May this partnership bring beneficial connections and safe, respectful travel opportunities for those who visit.
