Day 12 Hajj 2026: 68 Thousand Pilgrims Depart, Haj Ministry Stresses Dam Regulations
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah reported that the implementation of the 1447 H/2026 Hajj pilgrimage on its twelfth day remains controlled. By May 1st, 2026, 175 groups totaling 68,082 pilgrims and 697 officials have been dispatched to the Holy Land, with 165 groups arriving in Medina and 19 groups in Mecca. The head of the Haj Ministry's Public Relations Bureau, Moh. Hasan Afandi, affirmed that all processes from departure to pilgrim movement have proceeded smoothly and are well-coordinated.
Regarding services, the Haj Ministry recorded 5,576 pilgrims receiving outpatient care, with 105 referred to the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic and 125 to Saudi Arabian hospitals. Two pilgrims were reported deceased in Medina, bringing the total to seven individuals. The government also reminded pilgrims to pay the dam (sacrificial fee) through the official Saudi Arabian government program, Adhahi, and not to use other mechanisms.
The Haj Ministry urged pilgrims to maintain their physical condition amidst high temperatures by limiting activities and increasing water intake. Hasan emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring Hajj services meet standards, with a friendly approach for elderly individuals, those with disabilities, and women, so that the pilgrimage is carried out safely, comfortably, and professionally.
