Concerns Raised Over Gaza Ceasefire Compliance
As-salamu alaykum, brothers and sisters. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, expressed serious doubts about Israel respecting the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He pointed out that Israel's history of breaking ceasefires, like the one with Hezbollah in Lebanon since last November, makes it hard to trust them now. Mr. Araghchi warned about the deceitful tactics of the Israeli government, saying there’s really no trust in them when it comes to past agreements.
He also spoke on an Iranian radio show about Iran’s support for any efforts that help stop the violence, saying they've always backed plans aimed at ending these crimes. The Iranian Foreign Ministry has also emphasized support for actions that stop the war, remove occupying forces, allow humanitarian aid, free Palestinian prisoners, and uphold Palestinian rights.
Mr. Araghchi questioned the US's dedication to the ceasefire after the first part of their peace plan is put into action, wondering how committed they and other parties will be to their promises.
He mentioned the recent conflict between Iran and Israel in June, which started with Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. However, Iran received a message, through Russia, that Israel does not want to start another war. Apparently, there was a phone call between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Russian President Putin where Netanyahu said he doesn’t intend to restart conflict with Iran.
This message was passed on to Tehran's ambassador in Russia. Meanwhile, Iran’s military remains vigilant and is enhancing its capabilities each day.
May Allah grant peace and protect all those affected.
