Centralized Services at Terminal 2F Soetta Take Effect, Umrah Departure Scheme Completely Overhauled
The government has started tightening operational discipline for Umrah pilgrim departures and arrivals through Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport after the first day's evaluation turned up a number of issues. Director of Special Hajj and Umrah, Moh. Fauzin, said some pilgrims still arrived late, so airlines didn't process check-in on time.
Additionally, the review found that extra bags from Umrah groups were not uniform and lacked identity labels, plus extra luggage on Saudia flights was hard to identify. The Ministry of Hajj is asking all PPIUs using Saudia, Hainan, and Loong Air to put red ribbons on all Umrah group baggage to speed up identification.
The government also wants Circular Letter No. 153/BN/2026 to be redistributed to all travel organizers so the technical rules are applied uniformly. PPIU compliance is seen as key to smooth departure and arrival services for Umrah pilgrims.
This restructuring is part of transforming the national Umrah service governance to be more professional, efficient, and integrated, aiming to handle the surge in pilgrim numbers and ensure orderly, safe, and comfortable journeys.
