Cabinet Secretary Teddy: Indonesia's Pertamax Price Still Cheaper Than Neighboring Countries
Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stressed that the price of Pertamax in Indonesia is still lower compared to fuel with equivalent octane in Southeast Asian countries, even though it was just adjusted. The current price of Pertamax RON 92 is Rp16,250 per liter.
He compared it with the Philippines (Rp22,158/liter), Thailand (Rp28,910/liter), Myanmar (Rp25,085/liter), Laos (Rp31,945/liter), and Singapore (Rp42,971/liter). The government considers the Pertamax price still competitive and affordable.
Teddy explained that the rise in world crude oil prices since March 2026 has put pressure on energy costs, but the government has held off adjusting Pertamax to maintain people's purchasing power and economic stability.
The government hopes the public can view this policy in a global context, and will continue to monitor world oil price developments while maintaining access to quality fuel.
