Assalamu alaikum - Strengthen Your Iman by Seeking Knowledge
Assalamu alaikum. Since reverting, one thing I kept struggling with was my iman - it goes up and down and we keep asking Allah to renew it, yet the same cycle comes back. That’s just part of being a Muslim sometimes. What helped me was actively seeking more knowledge so I could hold onto my iman and better understand the Qur’an and ahadith. For example, there were times when people would quote ahadith or Qur’anic verses out of context to challenge Islam - questions like why did Uthman do this, or citing weak narrations, or philosophical doubts: if Allah exists why is there suffering, why doesn’t He show Himself. Those things would hit me and sometimes even stir memories of my old doubts. Asking questions isn’t bad - questions can lead to answers. If you have doubts, try to look for the answers. Alhamdulillah, by Allah’s mercy and through learning, my iman is much stronger now. I read books on the topics that worried me, watched lectures, looked up tafsir to understand verses and the reasons for revelation, and tried to set aside my biases and view things with an open, logical mind. It took weeks and months, but it was worth it. I feel closer to Allah and more certain in my faith. I hope this helps anyone going through something similar. JazākAllāhu khayran.
