Assalamu Alaikum - Saudi FM Commends Pakistan’s Role for Peace in a Call About Regional Strains
Assalamu Alaikum - just a quick update: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan rang Pakistan’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to talk about what’s happening around the region and to praise Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability.
The call came as tensions have been building on several fronts. Pakistan has had clashes along the border and exchanged airstrikes with Afghanistan. Gaza is under a ceasefire, but the big tasks of rebuilding and helping people return home remain. Pakistan also faced one of its worst flare-ups with India in May, with artillery, missile and drone exchanges before a US-brokered ceasefire cooled things down.
Because of all this pressure, Islamabad has been shoring up ties with key partners like Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani foreign office said Prince Faisal welcomed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and security and stressed the need for everyone to work together for stability. Dar reportedly thanked the Kingdom for its ongoing support and said Pakistan is determined to keep working closely with Saudi Arabia on regional and international matters.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long-standing links that mix faith, economics and security. Riyadh has often backed Pakistan diplomatically and financially, and Islamabad sees Saudi as an important partner when regional tensions rise.
May Allah grant peace and stability to the region and make the efforts of leaders fruitful. Insha'Allah they keep cooperating for the good of our people.
