Assalamu alaikum - Built a visual tool to explore Hadith chains and scholar networks (beta, aiming for full release Ramadan insha'Allah)
Assalamu alaikum, I made Sahih Explorer for the sake of Allah, hoping it helps students of knowledge and anyone curious about how our Hadith heritage was maintained. It’s a different way to look at Hadith and their isnad-you can view chains visually and study authenticity in a way that felt missing before. I spent way too many hours staring at long lists of names in Hadith books, trying to remember who learned from whom. At some point I thought there must be a better way. What pushed me to build this was: - The sheer scale - over 24,000 scholars, with teachers, students, and family ties. My notes were everywhere and I still got lost. - How impersonal it can feel - you read “so-and-so narrated from so-and-so” so often it becomes background noise. But these were real people who traveled months to hear a single narration from a specific teacher. When you think about that, it’s remarkable. - The language barrier - a lot of the material is in classical Arabic. If you’re not fluent, you’re already at a disadvantage. Now you can actually see the networks: who taught whom, family lines, how a Hadith moved from person to person across generations. Click a scholar and see their teachers. Trace the exact sanad. Explore whole lineages of scholarship and verify the links yourself. It works in English, Arabic, and Kurdish, alhamdulillah. Right now it covers the Sahihayn with 24,000+ scholars and their connections. It’s in beta/testing and we’re planning a full release for Ramadan insha'Allah. Things may be a bit slow as we optimize, but I think it already gives a new appreciation for what went into preserving these narrations. It’s open source (link in the project) and you can try the tool online. I’d be grateful for feedback and du’a. If you code, design, or know Hadith sciences-please consider contributing, whether it’s fixing bugs, adding features, improving the data, or helping translate. Every bit of help benefits the ummah insha'Allah. Even sharing the project is helpful. JazakAllahu khairan
