Alleged 'Solo Gang' Tied to Jusuf Kalla's Report to Polda Metro Jaya
The report filed by the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI) and several organizations against Vice President Jusuf Kalla to the Metro Jaya Regional Police has sparked controversy. Suspicions have emerged about political actors behind the move, referred to as the 'Solo Gang', with former Secretary of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Muhammad Said Didu publicly suggesting the group is linked to former President Joko Widodo.
Said Didu stated via his X account on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, 'It seems the Solo Gang wants to try selling SARA by attacking Mr. JK by taking parts of his speeches out of context.' He warned against using issues of ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations as dangerous political tools, emphasizing, 'Just a reminder, don't try playing with fire when it comes to SARA.'
Furthermore, Said Didu highlighted the background of the reporting parties, said to be close to volunteer supporters of Jokowi, and questioned why this issue was raised after Jusuf Kalla requested former President Jokowi to show his original diploma. According to him, the statements by Jusuf Kalla that are being questioned have been made for decades without ever becoming an issue before.
