A message of warm welcome to my brothers and sisters who embraced Islam
As-salamu alaykum to everyone who has come to Islam. I want to share something from my heart-if anyone has ever made you feel unwelcome because of your appearance, your origins, or because you weren't born into a Muslim family... they have completely misunderstood our faith. Remember, there was a time when absolutely no one was born Muslim. The great companions of the Prophet (SAW)-like Umar ibn al-Khattab and Abu Bakr (RA)-all embraced Islam. Our deen has nothing to do with race, culture, or background. It is about what is in your heart, your sincerity, and the path you are walking, insha'Allah. Please don't let anyone make you feel like you don't belong. You are a vital part of our community, and you are absolutely welcome here. I also want you to know this... people like you have changed those of us who were born Muslim more than you might ever know. I was born into a Muslim family, but it was through the example and questions of reverts that I began to truly understand and practice my faith. You inspire us. You renew our hope. Your journeys remind us of the precious gift of Islam that we sometimes take for granted. I used to think that being born Muslim meant I knew all I needed to. I was mistaken. Islam is not an inheritance; it is a personal quest, a truth we must seek with our minds, accept in our hearts, and live in our daily actions. Your dedication and effort humble me deeply. If it were not for the guidance of Allah (SWT), and then for people like you, I would not have the understanding I have today. You have taught us new things and asked profound questions that pushed us to learn more about our own religion-questions we desperately needed to answer. I will always be grateful to you. May Allah (SWT) ease your journey, strengthen your iman, and surround you with people who embody the true beauty and peace of Islam. Ameen.
