Allegations of Police Officer Violence in Tegal Against Wife: Chronology and Report Filed with Bareskrim
Allegations of abuse by a police officer against his wife in Tegal, Central Java, have gone viral on social media. The victim, with the initials MAN (30), reported the case to the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police along with her legal counsel on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The incident reportedly occurred over approximately two years, from 2023 to 2025.
The victim's lawyer, Reza, stated that from the beginning of the relationship, MAN was allegedly forced to consume methamphetamine-type narcotics by the alleged perpetrator. Physical violence reportedly became more frequent after they entered into an unregistered marriage and lived together. The victim was also allegedly doused with a harmful liquid resulting in serious burns up to 47 percent, and experienced intimidation to prevent her from reporting.
Social media posts mentioned that the victim hasn't fully recovered and is suffering from prolonged trauma. Authorities are expected to follow up on this report in accordance with applicable law.
