Alhamdulillah: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE bestowed with First-Class Order of Zayed II
Assalamu Alaikum - Some good news: the United Arab Emirates has honoured Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, with the First-Class Order of Zayed II, the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi said on Thursday. This came as recognition for his work in deepening the ties between the two countries.
Pakistan and the UAE have long and close relations, cooperating on trade, defence and labour issues. The Emirates is home to over 1.7 million Pakistanis - the second-biggest Pakistani community in the Gulf - and their remittances are a key part of Pakistan’s foreign exchange, Alhamdulillah.
According to the embassy, the decoration was presented to Ambassador Tirmizi by His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting in Abu Dhabi. The statement praised the ambassador’s “dedicated efforts in further deepening the historic and brotherly relations between the two nations.”
Ambassador Tirmizi expressed his gratitude, saying he felt “overwhelmingly delighted and deeply humbled” to receive the honour, and he thanked the UAE leadership, authorities and people for their support during his posting. He also said this recognition was a team effort - crediting his colleagues at the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate General in Dubai, and the Pakistani community across the Emirates for their hard work and cooperation.
For context, the Order of Zayed II is one of the UAE’s top civilian honours, named after the country’s founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It’s usually given to heads of state, senior diplomats and notable figures who have helped strengthen ties with the UAE or promoted international cooperation. The award, conferred by the President, includes a gold medal and a ribbon featuring Sheikh Zayed’s likeness, symbolising friendship, service and mutual respect between nations.
May Allah continue to bless Pakistan–UAE relations and reward everyone involved for their efforts.
