AI and Entrepreneurship Highlighted on Day One of Saudi Universities' Innovation Conference
As-salamu alaykum - Day one of the inaugural Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Saudi universities put generative AI front and center as a tool to help create university spaces that encourage student creativity and innovation.
Speakers also talked about the economic role of university business accelerators and how to set performance indicators that support lasting entrepreneurial activity. There were sessions on modern approaches to innovation and changing how universities foster entrepreneurship.
Organized by King Abdulaziz University, the event brought together local and international academics, researchers, and specialists from universities, national organizations, and think tanks.
International panels considered chances for entrepreneurs in AI-powered supply chains and how entrepreneurial leadership can drive innovation and institutional excellence. Several hands-on workshops looked at the steps to build university startups and turn academic research results into products with economic value.
One interactive session, “Silent Entrepreneurship,” focused on teaching entrepreneurship to people with hearing impairments and suggested ways to help them join the innovation ecosystem; it also included practical work on financial and investment awareness. Other workshops examined opportunities and challenges in the water sector, future water-related technologies for sustainability, and how innovators and entrepreneurs can use AI.
The conference wraps up on Wednesday - may Allah grant benefit from the discussions and help translate ideas into positive projects for the community.
