Acting Quickly On Good Deeds - Assalamu alaikum
Assalamu alaikum. I wanted to share a simple reminder about doing good before trials come. The Prophet ﷺ said to hurry to do good deeds before a fitnah that will be like the dark part of night, where someone might be a believer in the morning and an unbeliever by evening, or vice versa, selling their faith for worldly gain (Sahih Muslim). This hadith really pushes me to not delay. Look at what the Qur’an emphasizes too: 1) Provision from Allah - Al-Mulk (67:15): He made the earth easy for you to travel and eat from His provisions, and to Him is the return. It reminds me to trust Allah for rizq and not cling too tightly to dunya. 2) Salah - Al-Jumu’ah (62:9): Believers, when the call to prayer on Friday is made, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade. That’s best for you. A good nudge to prioritize prayer over business at its time. 3) Forgiveness and Jannah - Al-Hadid (57:21) and Ali‑'Imran (3:133): Race to the forgiveness of your Lord and to a Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe and are mindful of Allah. Compete in good, seek forgiveness, and hold hope for the Hereafter. 4) Returning to Allah - Adh-Dhariyat (51:50): Flee to Allah; the Prophet was sent with a clear warning. Turn back to Him while there’s time. Little practical takeaways that help me: set small daily goals for prayer and dhikr, give charity even if it’s little, make tawbah often, and remember the temporary nature of this life. May Allah make us steadfast and help us act on good deeds before any trial reaches us. Jazakum Allahu khairan.
