A Friday Reminder: Sending a Thousand Salawat Brings Endless Rewards
Assalamu alaikum, everyone! It's Jumu'ah once more, alhamdulillah. Let's dedicate a moment today to send salawat-a thousand blessings-upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). There's a beautiful hadith in which the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever invokes blessings upon me once, Allah will bless him ten times.' (Sahih Muslim) Another narration adds: 'Whoever invokes blessings upon me, Allah will bless him ten times, wipe away ten of his sins, and elevate him by ten ranks.' (Ahmad, An-Nasa'i, and Al-Hakim) And there's an encouraging report-though some scholars note its chain is weaker-from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that says: 'Whoever sends blessings upon me a thousand times on Friday will not pass away until he sees his place in Paradise.' Here's a simple salawat I often recite: Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ Meaning: 'O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and his family a thousand thousand times.' May Allah accept our efforts and multiply our rewards. Jazakum Allahu khairan!
