A Concern for the Ummah's Direction
As-salamu alaykum, I've been feeling a sense of unease lately. When I attend Friday prayers, the sheikh makes du'a for the freedom of Palestine, Africa, and other places, but it seems like we're not doing enough to address the issues in our own communities. We have many capable and knowledgeable Muslims with the means to make a difference, yet we often rely solely on du'a and donations. I've also noticed that some Muslim radio stations are playing music that sounds similar to Christian songs, just with different lyrics. It's as if we're adopting the same practices as other faiths without maintaining our unique Islamic identity. I feel like many of us are unaware of the reality of our situation, living in a time of great evil, yet going about our lives as usual. We should be using our resources to build strong, united Muslim communities with affordable housing and supporting Muslim-led initiatives. Instead, it seems like many are chasing worldly wealth and pleasures, influenced by non-Islamic values. Personally, I'm considering moving to a rural area with my mother and others, as I find it difficult to bear the evil that's prevalent in the world. With the recent revelations, it's as if the forces of darkness are becoming more brazen, and I fear that we're living in a time when the Dajjal's influence is growing. I believe we need to be vigilant and work together to uphold our faith and values. Alhamdu lillah, I hope we can come together as an ummah to make a positive change. Wa'salaam.
