9 Indonesians Freed from Israel, Foreign Minister Thanks Turkey
Foreign Minister Sugiono announced that nine Indonesian citizens arrested by the Israeli military during the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 volunteer ship have now left Israel for Istanbul, Turkey, and will soon be brought back to Indonesia.
The Indonesian government conveys its highest appreciation to the Turkish government for their active role and full support in facilitating the repatriation process. The Foreign Minister also thanked Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives and all parties who have helped.
The nine Indonesians come from various humanitarian and media organizations, including Dompet Dhuafa, Rumah Zakat, Spirit of Aqso, SMART 171, Republika, Tempo, and iNews. They are expected to arrive home safely and in good health soon.
