2 Suspected Religious Offenders in Quran Recitation Contest with Alcohol Prizes Taken to Polda
Two suspected perpetrators of religious blasphemy with the initials R and E were taken to Polda Metro Jaya for questioning regarding alleged religious blasphemy at The Sounds Project Music Festival in Ancol, North Jakarta. They arrived wearing shirts, jackets, hats, and masks, and did not respond to media crews.
This case came to light after allegations of an act that insulted religion, namely a contest to memorize Surah Ad Dhuha with alcohol as the prize. Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Iman Imanudin, stated that police have examined the organizer and the alcohol brand owner regarding the challenge.
The examination of R and E is being conducted to delve into their roles. Police are still gathering statements and evidence. Police Commissioner Iman Imanudin emphasized that law enforcement will be carried out firmly if criminal elements are found.
