BANYUWANGI – A madrasa student in Srono District, Banyuwangi, has withdrawn from school after an indecent video allegedly involving her spread on social media. The family decided to move her to an Islamic boarding school to protect her psychological well-being and avoid disruptions in the school environment. The Head of the Banyuwangi Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Chaironi Hidayat, confirmed that the school met with the student's parents on July 21, 2026. The parents confirmed the incident and felt ashamed, then submitted a withdrawal letter. The madrasa clarified that the video occurred outside the school's control. A male student with the initials MS apologized through a clarification video, expressing regret over the commotion that arose.
