What is the Ash'ari school of thought?
Assalamu alaikum! Lately I've been digging into Islam more, since I come from a Muslim background but wasn't really practicing. I stumbled upon something called the Ash'ari school, which mixes theology and philosophy to understand Allah's words. They're not like the Mu'tazila, who are gone now and only used pure logic for religion, and they're not like the Salafis, who just stick to earlier scholars' teachings. So what's the deal with them? How do they explain Islam? And what are their main ideas and principles? I'd love a detailed answer, but please keep it simple, no need for overcomplication.
