What Did Maryam (peace be upon her) Look Like?

Assalamu alaikum! I've been thinking about something and wanted to hear your thoughts. You know how in Christian and Catholic traditions, Maryam (peace be upon her) is often shown with European features and very simple, unadorned clothing? That just doesn't sit right with me, because it seems so different from the reality of the time and place she lived in. Like, wouldn't her appearance and dress reflect her actual environment? I'm curious what everyone else thinks about this.
