Vocalist of Band with Initial C Reported to Police for Alleged Religious Blasphemy
Polda Metro Jaya has received an official report regarding alleged religious blasphemy by a woman with the initial C, the vocalist of a band, following her performance at The Sounds Project, North Jakarta. The report was filed by advocate Muhammad Dimas Saputra on Thursday (13/8/2026) under report number LP/B/5998/VIII/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
The case started from a photo posted on Threads showing a pose resembling takbir with a related caption. Although the post has been deleted, screenshots went viral and drew criticism. The complainant emphasized that the legal process will continue even though the reported person has issued a clarification.
Investigators are still examining witness statements and analyzing electronic evidence before summoning the reported person. The case is linked to Article 300 and/or Article 301 of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
