Two Salon Workers in Lebak Become Suspects in Quran Trampling Case

The Lebak District Police have named two salon workers, initials NR (NL) and MT, as suspects in a suspected blasphemy case. They are suspected of involvement in a viral video showing the trampling of the holy Quran in Malingping, Banten. Lebak District Police Chief AKBP Herfio Zaki stated that both suspects have been secured since Friday night (10/4/2026) and are undergoing questioning. The security measures were carried out thanks to assistance from the public and the ranks of the Malingping and Wanasalam Sector Police. The Head of Public Relations for the Banten Regional Police, Kombes Maruli Hutapea, emphasized that the Lebak District Police has conducted a case briefing regarding this incident.
