Tomorrow is Arafat Day: A Beautiful Way to Have Duas Made for You

Assalamu alaikum! Tomorrow is the Day of Arafah, one of the most special days for making dua. Most of us have a list of wishes, like a new car, a spouse, a job, or better health, and that's totally fine. But there's a clever way to ask for those things and get an extra blessing on top. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that when a Muslim makes dua for their brother or sister in their absence, an angel says, "Ameen, and may the same be for you too." This is from Sahih Muslim, hadith 2732a, narrated by Abu al-Darda. Just think: when you pray for someone else's good, an angel asks Allah to give you the same thing. And an angel's dua is powerful! So, if you want a car, a great way to ask for it is to pray that someone else gets one. **A simple trick you can do in ten minutes tonight** Step one: Grab a paper and jot down what you really want for yourself. Be honest-list your needs, like marriage, a home, a child, halal income, peace of mind, or healing from sickness. Step two: Next to each item, write the name of someone you know who'd benefit from that same thing. Like a cousin also looking to get married, a friend hunting for a job, a parent needing good health, or a neighbor struggling financially. Step three: Tomorrow, on Arafah, make dua for each of those people by name. Ask Allah to bless them with what you wrote, without mentioning yourself. Just focus on them. The angels will take care of your side. **A sample list of 7 duas for 7 people** 1. You want a car? Pray your cousin gets a reliable one. 2. You want to get married? Pray your friend finds a righteous spouse. 3. You want a better job? Pray your sibling lands the role they applied for. 4. You want debt relief? Pray your coworker is freed from debt. 5. You want a child? Pray your friend who's trying is blessed with a baby. 6. You want good health? Pray your parent is cured and strengthened. 7. You want a calm heart? Pray someone you know who's anxious finds peace. Seven sincere duas for seven people. And by the Prophet's words, an angel says "Ameen, and may the same be for you too" for each one. **BUT...** Make sure your duas are heartfelt. Don't try to trick Allah-genuinely wish good for others.
